She's not confident singing and has said as much before. She'll fool around and have fun in karaoke streams, but an actual song is a different ball game. The likes of Mori and Kiara live for recording and releasing stuff, they clearly enjoy it very much, but Ame says that's not where her own interests lie. Also she's released as many original songs as Gura and Ina. So that's something.. I guess.

In one stream she said she tried to make a song but it didn't end up how she wanted so she dropped the project. She wants to actually make something good.
She just needs to find the right producer and someone that knows how to mix her voice. If even a bad singer like Noel can have a good original song, I'm sure Ame can too.

As an example Kiara's Goodbye Declaration cover is a really grating song. I still like it but it's definitely a lot of high pitched squealing and I know not everyone can like songs like that

Cover not forcing them doesn't mean there is no expectations, both by them and by fans. If there was not expectations bad singers like Ame, Coco or Noel would have never done karaoke streams. Coco hated singing at first. She would have never even try karaokes without the environnement she was in.

It sounds like you only watch EN? The JPs don't usually do unarchived karaokes and a lot of them take singing lessons/training specifically for Hololive projects that they are encouraged to be a part of. Also full generation collab songs are very common for the JPs, which require participation from even the not so good singers.

It's not a requirement but you WILL be expected to sing a song. Many of them mentioned they were asked to take vocal lessons/training. Everyone else in Holo En/Myth can sing to an extent, she needs to pull her weight if they choose to have another group song. If you've ever worked in your life before you'll know what you got hired for/to do is fluid, you can always be expected to do more. Hololive's only requirement is: "Be really good at SOMETHING, not everything." hence was Suisei's problem initially in being hired.
