I mean, it's the only thing that really makes sense at this point. She did say she wanted to quit back when Coco graduated and despite her stating otherwise I think she still feels that way deep down. So maybe she is deliberately destroying her throat to get a "quitting would be best before permanent damage" from a doctor. A legit reason to quit supported by a doctor. If it's not deliberate then she's just an idiot on top of a hopeless workaholic.
