>>12422038>>12422263I agree. But you're missing a piece of the puzzle, so just take this from 35yo Slavic man:
Gura hit that wall, that point in life where all the alarm bells and whistles start screeching, and she didn't ignore it. Many people do and go to the dogs. She didn't "clean up her act" as a kind of cynical attempt to get into Hololive and LARP as a pure maiden, but rather out of an adult realization that that might be it, her one shot, the turning point where she could turn her life around and into something resembling success or valuable contacts, experience and a foot in the door. That's why Gura gave her all from the very start despite the then common rrat that she's lazy or just coasting - she wasn't. She was giving her 100% from the get go because she's not dumb and knew that this was her ticket out of whatever wrong or futile turn her life took, or from simple aimlessness and stagnation.
On a more... meme worthy notion if you will, most of us oldfags hit that point years ago relevant to the Internet as a whole. There comes a point when you realize being a dank memester and troll is just immature at best, but life threatening in any case. This shit can and does genuinely negatively impact your life and before you know it you're pushing thirty and your job experience is zero, you have no skills whatsoever and have turned into some fucked up creature that can only masturbate and shitpost. For extreme cases refer to Chris Chan, Drachenlord, Wings of Redemption etc. On a more depressingly realistic side, people like Dough Walker (Nostalgia Critic) or James Rolfe, who are stuck in a weird kind of hell from which there is no escape. ANYONE putting his everything into being an e-celeb or pro gamer or other such ephemeral shit is setting himself up for long term failure, a disaster, a personal armageddon.
Vtubing has the advantage of anonymity, and these girls, and I hope Gura personally, will know to save their money, invest it into shit and in themselves and use it as a massive boost for RL stuff.
Beware zoomer, beware! The Internet is all smoke and mirrors.
