>>12499411Wow bro, it's almost like trans people don't actually know what they are saying and are actually perpetuating misinformation on a topic they know nothing about! It's almost like the trans community it trying to police a community they have no stake in. Acting as if it was theirs the whole time.
>>12499559>cause they've recently been trying to claim it as a word for themselves for some reason.I always found that the idea of "reclaiming" trap for trans people is very stupid and illogical if you just think about it one second.
The reason why minority groups may reclaim a word is because they want power over something that was oppressing them initially (or it started to grow into a oppressive term). But let's drop the power dynamics for a second and let's look at this socially. Every word has a meaning and over time those words may become more impolite depending on the certain social climates a society may have. Negro was and still is a term to use for black people, so is Nigger/Nigga. All of these words may be different words, but ultimately they have the same meaning. It's just more polite to say one over the other. Nigger still means Black. Nigga still means Black. Black people start saying Nigga/Nigger to each other to drop the stigma between each other, because again it is what they are. Same thing with gay people. Homo, Fag, Gay, you name it. These words are the same thing, and the people who are apart of these groups know that no matter how mean or oppressive that word is, it is what they are. So, they attempt to embrace it.
Now when we get to Trans people, they also have a lot of words. Tranny, Transsexual, Troon, etc. All of these words are all still talking about the trans experience in some way. By not identifying with your "cis-gender". By that alone, they should understand that Trap (where someone, by all accounts, looks like a certain gender, but they are in fact not that gender. Where they intend to trick an audience) is fundamentally not talking about that experience like all the other words do. In fact, it can easily be argued that calling a trans person a trap can easily be either straight up harassment, or a microaggression. Just using their lingo to give some perspective btw. To imply that a trans person is just trying to look non cis and in fact tricking unsuspecting individuals should be immediate red flags to any trans person.
In no way Trap and Trans mean the same thing. It never did. Of course, I should say that their desperate reaches to try and see representation in almost anything is actually hurting them in this specific word. They have projected the trans experience on to someone who is and identifies as being their cis-gender. No, this isn't an "egg" situation, because traps specifically are not looking into other options for clothes to try and calm their gender dysphoria. It's more of a Femboy angle where they use femininity to enhance a goal. Not only that, but a trap doesn't need to crossdress in the first place to be a trap.
So then why? why cling to a word that wasn't yours to begin with? It's very simple. It's because they just don't understand. Trap has been and always will be mainly an anime archetype, coined by western otakus. It was first used in image boards and it will forever be discussed and most of it's understanding will come from hardcore otakus. They simply don't understand the fundamentals of anime and how a trap manifests in the industry and the public.
