>>12543974Part of that is probably also because she's the EN that's most influenced by what I'd call a "japanese entertainment style", for example aizuchi (interjections, to show you're listening, it's nothing unusual in JP and that's why she often works best and feels most natural within them, but for western people it can be more offputting) or the tsukkomi-boke dynamic (someone says something dumb, someone retorts, and she can fill both sides of the equation as needed, for example she's willing to make herself the butt of a joke if everyone is too serious or reserved, and also willing to call out someone else when they say something stupid. Of course, when she's the outlier and most others are on a different vibe, she can chafe or fall flat, but I think after a few bumps and adjustments in the beginning they can all work with each other much better now)
>>12543817Even her drawing style harkens back to the "good ol' days" of late 90's/ early 00's "how to draw manga" aesthetic, that is very pleasant in its "innocence". I agree it's a bit of a shame that apparently the current dominant meta for a "good" entertainment personality type for most people seems to be a more "cool" character, everything has to be detached and ironic, never caring for anything because showing you care about something is "cringe", and the more of a doomer you are the more you are "based". It's rather refreshing that she still has some of that "earnestness" in her that the Japanese have kept and western entertainmers mostly lost.
