>>12548217Sometimes i wish they were less popular so they stop doing all the sponsor, collabs, merchandise, voice lessons, shitty MMO gachas and so on bullshit and came back to the reason i started watching them, streaming. So yeah, probably, if that makes them stop doing streams by the notions.
Over the last few months i feel they overall care less and less about streaming (which means less, shorter and more filler streams) and more about shilling. And that's from someone who didn't mind the past year them shilling things from time to time if it gets them money.
But too much shilling feels really weird to me. In one hand it makes them feel more exploitative towards their audience. In the other hand it kinda deshumanize them, reduce them to marketable plushies of anime, like the meme.
The whole thing of this kind of vtubers, and streamers really, is the (fake) notion of a parasocial relationship with their audience who somehow (mistakenly) thinks they're some sort of friend.
The moment it stops being Pekora and stars being Pekora plum wine, pekora cafe menu, pekora plushie, pekora daki, and so on... (and Pekora isn't even one of the top shillers desu) it feels alien to me.
Well, i digress there but i think i made my point about why i'm starting to like less this type of popular vtubers over way less known ones.
