Her changed Risu voice is less squeaky/high-pitched, and I personally prefer it. The part about her not being able to maintain it is total bullshit. It changed gradually to something she is more comfortable with, not the opposite.
The model change is a mixed bag. I definitely miss the old smugness and cutely retarddedd looking model, but the new one (primarily the newest outfit) tracks her face much better and has a wide range of expression when she chooses to use them.
So overall, I would hardly call what she went through a nosedive. There have been some struggles this year for sure, but I am personally really happy with where her content is now.
