Given how vtubing makes it hard to know if the person behind the screen is in a relationship, that kind of dependency from the vtuber is helpful in assuaging worries
As long as there are fuzzy lines between vtubers who don't do GFE, vtubers who are willing to exploit GFE but aren't invested in it, and vtubers who are "true believers" and care about their audience in that dependent way, there's always going to be conflict and drama and conflict and drama spurs arguments and arguments spur conversation
