I really thought I wouldn't care, but I'm not gonna lie knowing that a vtuber has a bf/husband subconsciously lowers my interest in them even though I know it's entirely unreasonable and that I don't have a chance anyways. I don't know man it legit feels like some kind of animal instinct.

We are all animals, not machines. Part of why you're attracted to vtubers is because they pretend to be single. The reason they don't say anything about their relationship status is to extract more money from lonely men. It's a nasty business and no matter how nice they seem, they are in it for the money and attention.

Credits to those indies that are completely honest and say when they have a husband/bf. They could be making more money by pretending they aren't but they prefer to be honest about it.

For my oshi, unapologetically no. The only boyfriend/husband she can have is with (Me) or chat as a collective entity.

If you are willing to have a serious discussion about it, the way to approach romance storytelling in non interactive media is the blank slate self insert or "bland mc". This is what makes romance movies enjoyable and not awkward.
This works for both genders, Bella from Twighlight is a reverse example of "bland male MC with no personality".
