Eventually the social identity and several other things that don't matter become just as important as the streamer themselves, causing viewers to feel compelled to do stuff like this on twitter, reddit, discord, etc. I did it once when Ame told us we could have positions as a joke, but never actually wore it as a badge every where I went. It was removed from my username within weeks. For some reason, things like this heightens people's experience for whatever it is they indulge in
