Going through all the MSQ, yes even the "streamlined" version, would still take multiple dozen hours, and it's simply just not a good trade from a "cost/benefit" perspective.
- "Someone" (yeah, a real mystery...) in management really wants to push them to start playing XIV, or even make it their "main game".... WHY? For what godfucking reason is "someone" trying to force this shit?
(and inb4: squenix sponsorships and perms! Yeah then just do the few mandatory shill streams to get it over with and drop it, like it's most likely going to happen)
- the talents themselves aren't really all that jazzed about it. We've only heard one, Irys, on stream be something like actually hyped about it (and most likely, poor girl just doesn't yet know what she's getting into), so again, why force this shit? If they wanna play it, they will on their own, if they don't, they won't. No need to make this into a big "official" thing (see also, discord leaks with the "ffxiv project" channel) that only puts unnecessary pressure on them.
- and even then, okay let's say you got your wish. All the girls start playing XIV... what now? What have you actually achieved, what are you actually subjecting them (the girls, and the audience) to? 11 talents who'll stream nothing more than all just going through the same 100+ hour MSQ all the time? People here already complain about longrunning JRPG streams and how they're boredom and audience killers, it would just be that, but times ten worse.
Again, I'm not "against" them playing XIV (played it myself), or any other MMO - IF they want it naturally, sure, let them do what they want, without pressure. I'm just highly skeptical of this stupid big "project" that apparently "someone" wants this to become.
