>>12918181Admittedly, it's possible my memory has become selective (kind of like how people only remember the 'good' 80's music and forget all of the shit that decade churned out), but Hololive before they became shackled by numbers were all kind of doing their own thing to varying degrees of success but an overall much more interesting product.
The Coco/Watame Marie Antoinette moment just wouldn't happen anymore. Off-collabs are at an all-time low despite Japan having been out of a SoE for a while, as are things like group karaoke. Everyone plays the same games at the same time (atm everyone is taking turns reacting to the Korone cameo in Tsugunohi, but before that was the HoloEN MC Server Tour, and before that it was one of those shitty forever-alpha horror games). Collabs in general feel like they've been exhausted, and this is especially true for Myth/Council, who are basically forced to hang out amongst each other whilst other branches and companies freely interact. Team competitions have been rigged to end in a draw three times in the last year or so, which makes even their events boring.
Everything generally just feels so much more sterilised and 'synthetic fun' that it's difficult to watch. Their insular nature has caused me to get bored and burned out, which isn't something they did until they got very popular. None of their members are bad at all, but the general vibe of the company is just not the same.
