>>13063335The pandemic and the timing of the debut does give it some context, but while I understand that audiences liked the memes, clips, and the karaoke, it's more that I don't know what made them so appealing to people, especially normalfags, in the first place. I saw the clips and watched the singing shark a bit at the time the karaoke was being posted everywhere, but they didn't pique my interest. At the time a close friend was more into Hololive than I was, so he was talking about Gura a lot, and posts about 'a' and the karaoke were literally all over the internet, but again I was pretty indifferent (not *negative*, I stress, just indifferent). When I found my oshi, some of that interest naturally spread to the other members, so I watched some of Gura's full-length streams, and yeah, she's pretty good, but the instant appeal I just don't really get. Just odd to me that she clicked with audiences so fast.
