Why are Marvel movies the all time biggest grossers? Largest spread of audience/demographics. Someone like Gura appeals to a huge swathe of groups who may never even meet otherwise, while Rosemi is more niche.

I definitely feel that Reimu received a huge model debuff, I was not surprised when I watched her debut stream and saw that the artist wished to remain anonymous because it is not a very good model, which is a shame because personality-wise she is great.

Meanwhile I can't explain why Enna is not that far above Reimu because everything about her is perfect, her model has a great art style, incredibly detailed, her voice, personality, talents, everything about her is amazing. She shouldn't be that low and yet she is. People just have bad taste sometimes.

Nina is the top Ethy. NijiEN, for whatever reason, attracts a lot of normalfags, probably people who think they are too cool for Holo. Even the shitpost term holobronies makes them out to be like dweeby dorks in comparison.

The weird thing is NijiEN fans have a lot of normalfags but NijiJP fans are the opposite and basically "everyone is Pomu tier if not far higher / more advanced" in powerlevel, and the groups generally completely utterly fucking hate each other, unlike how Holoen and HoloJP fans have a ton of overlap. So while NijiEN fans project unity it's really more like they are unified in trying to pretend to be the cool kids above tribal matters when no they are so far deep into that paranoia of trying not to be dorky weebs, their JP complement of fandom does not even register on their end. Of course part of this is Nijijp never made big inroads to the English audience beforehand so there were less to begin with in the West, but still the continued hostility despite several quite workable bridge Nijis existing (like Petra) is quite telling.

These are all very good points. It was common to say that Selen's dragoons hate the rest of Nijisanji because they know that Selen would be much more successful in Hololive. But, when you look at the kind of people that make up her fanbase, I really doubt those kinds of people would like it in Hololive where appreciation for otaku culture is required. When Selen debuted and the first thing I saw was people defending her pronunciation of the word "manga" and acting like pronouncing it correctly is a "nerd thing", I knew they were a lost cause.

Yeah, usually what makes things great to many people is what makes it unlikable to others. When something is completely smoothed of anything unique and is just streamlined to mass appeal, it loses soul unironically. Something like Marvel is good but it will never be great as a theatrical production(You might say some aspects of it like its VFX or ability to bring such a big cast of big names together, but not that actual work itself), things with real impact will never appeal the amazing to so many people from different walks of life, thats at least how I see it.
If you add water to lemonaid it might make it so people who don't like lemonaid can drink it easier but it ruins it for the people who like lemonaid and makes it so it can never be anything spectacular, just watered down dilution made to appeal to more people.
