>>13147128>Yumeography, Anycolor's virtual cabaret club, is shutting down. That’s because the concept of selling “one on one personal attention for a set period of time and a fixed price agreed upfront” is **not** the cabaret / host club model.
In that model there is the “one on one personal attention” alright, but the most desirable the host is, the higher their price goes, usually in a bidding war that goes across the time, up until a point you can be 100% sure a host won’t even glance at you for less than a guaranteed champagne tower.
Yumeography only chance to scale their revenue would be adding more and more girls (a strategy suspiciously similar to Anykara’s strategy for their vtuber business).
Interestingly enough the “GFE” provided by vtubers adapts that niche much better. The “one on one personal attention” is sold not for a set amount of time but essentially “for the second” so it can be spread through a customer base much wider.
You can see that even with chuubas that don’t main “GFE”: Pekora singing “happy birthday” to this or that nousagi that sends a superchat likely makes their day, even if it’s just a little time and not “one on one”.
Even just reading their screen names serve the same purpose, and scales up much better.
That business of theirs was not sustainable in the long run and they did well by cutting their losses early
