>>1319867Yeah, I haven't considered yet that it is quite possible that not long before EN2, Nijisanji will come in and debut 10 English vtubers and try to steal the thunder.
It's just that so far, well it's been over 3 years and running now and Niji has still never done jack fucking shit with English speakers, while Holo went from no interaction -> tacit acknowledgment and a couple official translations -> opening the reddit -> EN. Niji basically tried skipping going right to a reddit/gen without actually having even a drop of the popularity/penetration in the West Holos were getting before English ones came along.
If anything given the leveling out of subs/viewers etc for ENs, they already missed the most-hype moment to jump into the West, but given this takes time to recruit/train/assemble all the materials and staff etc it's no surprise they're playing catch up. The thing is, what makes Nijis different from Holos are for things you'd really not like - they are far more independent, can talk much more openly about their sex lives etc. They aren't really require to interact with each other or have particular needs for stream times; some of them don't stream for months at a time.
It's a clusterfuck basically, pure survival of the fittest/sink or swim with a revolving door of graduations, and this has led to various cliques forming. I'd think they won't instantly fall apart when debuting and may capture hype as an alternative to Holo, but within maybe 1-2 years, if things follow like how they've gone for the JPs and they introduce like 50 talents and oversaturate, shit will fall apart again for most of them, while they have a tiny crust of top sub talents that they basically work to death as the few bright lights in their otherwise bleak world.
