>>1341726The numbers thing depends a lot on your perspective - I have less than 10 active live viewers most time, I average 5 viewers - that's five people who took precious time of their schedules and go out of their lives to spend their time with a complete stranger - I'm really grateful for that.
Also, assuming everyone is streaming to make it big is wrong, there's other fulfillment to be had.
I can talk about myself here:
I started streaming because I barely have time to play vidya these days and streaming is a way to carve some time and allow myself to have fun instead of just working and being a super tired potato without energy to actively engage in any activity.
Even when I had 0 viewers I was already happy because of that.
I'm also happy of building something, I crafted my overlay, learned about audio, etc. The whole production aspect and having something I made at the end was also fulfilling - I caught myself watching my stream the other day with the pride of a parent who sticks their child's crappy drawing on the fridge's door because it means.
Then when I started getting an audience, other things came from it:
I made friends with other small streamers and they've became occasional gaming buddies, something I haven't had in over a decade.
And last, having someone to talk about the game while I play it feels comfy and nostalgic - I'm going through some Nintendo stuff, since I grew up on Sega and Sony, and having my viewers talk to me while a play gives that feels nostalgic.
In all, I may never make a cent from streaming ever - I already got more than what I wanted from it.
