Hoshikawa got flamed hard by the JP vtuber community since her debut. Even if Hololive was waaay smaller and with a different fanbase don't know if she would have survived in the early days of 2018.
Gen 1+2, since they debut less than 3 months apart, would have been less stable in this case i think.
Haachama's been extremely influential even before 2020 in fostering a kaigai and dedicated gachi audience which HSKW is reluctant to jump into.
Say what you will about Haachama vs HSKW in maturity and metal fortitude, but Haachama's been an S-SS tier vtuber, while HSKW's still B+ and i don't think she would have gotten more push to fullfill her potential if she were there in the early days of a tiny Hololive.
