But people still click streams, even small streams, of people playing their favorite game. That's why so many people jumped on amogus after the big channels of youtube started playing it. Sure, intuition would say that there's no reason for someone to click another channel playing the same game as all the others. But the strange statistical reality is that people playing the same game and everyone watching those people play the same game means those smaller streamers now appear on the 'recommended' page of the larger streamers, which gets eyes on your channel.
Exploiting the algorithm for clicks is something everyone does. That's why I recommend everyone also use community posts if they're just starting a youtube channel (community posts with popular content also put your channel in recommended feeds of others)
