If Hololive had debuted on Twitch it would've gone nowhere. Twitch is not a video host. It's not designed around building a large library of content that gets associated with other users' uploads which is how videos gain traction on Youtube, Twitch is designed to promote live broadcasts which means that whenever your channel is not live it might as well not exist.

Its less him being a huge boon and more APEX getting popular in Japan. He didn't make it popular there but he was smart enough to make the jump from PUBG early on. A bunch of JPs who played/invested in APEX got to reap so much rewards. Sucks for those who mained other FPS. CR's Ras being popular helped alot with CR being the "TSM" of JP APEX despite being an all Korean team, tho their JP streamers like Daruma are also popular. I'm not saying Hal isn't important but he's not THAT important. Same way as Coco is important to Holo but not as important as some Cocofags like to say.
