>>13526472>Doesn't this mean that they just want to keep a lid onYes. Yes it does. Compare their handling of it with other companies that frequently deal with phishing scams, such as banks. The very first thing a bank will do, or should do, is to notify the public. This is why every other time you check on your bank account you'll see a little square telling you that there are a lot of phishing scams going on right now, and to never hand out certain information.'
They do this partially because they are advised to by law enforcement and security firms, and partially to cover their ass in potential court cases. Just imagine a court case where a bank or other company did not notify the public, because they wanted to "collect evidence" for some security firm unrelated to law enforcement.
>Did your company know about the phishing?>Yes>Did you contact law enforcement?>Uhh, no we had a security firm>Did they contact law enforcement?>Uhh, no we were collecting evidence>Were you deputized by law enforcement to do so?>Uhh, noIt cannot be overstated how absolutely retardedly vshojo handled this. And I'm not even a fan of Nux, I've always found him to be a retarded obnoxious faggot with an overinflated ego.
At BEST, they were aggressively retarded and playing vigilante detective. At WORST, they were covering up a phishing scam. Nux being a faggot, as usual, wouldn't have any more bearing on any potential case than some journo trying to get a story.
