Newfags were already falling victim to the bullshit of resident spergs who had been there for years prior (always pitting Niji vs whatever, coincidentally) as early as Nov 2019 and there was no difference between the /hlg/ and global crowd until much later.
The actual tribalfagging (on 4chan at least) that emerged was mostly from people just not fitting in with /jp/ type posters/culture at all and it morphed into Niji(/jp/) vs Holo(mostly new posters).
