>>13628918>They confirmed the victims (of which there were two)Did they magically search through the emails of every indie VTuber to see if they got scammed?
Did they somehow hack the attacker's SMTP servers?
Pic related, there's zero DNS records for
vshojo.org (not even TXT SPF records, which are the bare minimum for basic email security), so they clearly don't have full control over the domain. They probably just got the registrar to revoke ownership for the attackers.
>contacted them for supportThey reached out eventually, but it's not clear who contacted who first.
The more likely scenario is Sakii and Nux tweeted about it and reached out to VShojo, and VShojo supported them.
>and eliminated the domain being used for the attack within a weekDid they buy up every domain that resembles
vshojo.org? Looks like
vshojo.co is available based on godaddy.
What stops the phishers from just buying another domain and doing this again?
>As such, there was no ongoing threat of doxxing or phishing or anything. As long as there are domains resembling
vshojo.com, this is an ongoing threat.
No one knows which domains the attackers have bought, and we don't know who they've phished until they come forward.
The right move from the start was publishing a public statement, this is basic fucking shit.
