Well today's initial debut of Gen6 has done something that hasn't happened in weeks, all fellow Holos got an across the board ~2k boost to their subscribers regardless if they streamed or not.

Alot of new fans brought in today for first time in quite awhile.

They're not comparable because Laplus had her debut on the same day her channel was revealed. You'd need to combine the parts of the graph that show the channel reveal and the debut day for EN2 to compare them properly and you can clearly see the incline on the debut day is on par with Laplus if not greater considering the culls in between the two dates

IRyS was before the August Update this year, which is when the sub-culling 'feature' was added. You can check the archives, there are even small channels that got fucked over and were complaining to YT who said 'lol we don't cull subs what are you talking about'.

How is it unreasonable to say that if you moved it down to the same day the channel would be revealed that it would be even steeper because then it would be combining the early adopters, the ones who immediately went and subbed to each channel with the ones who were waiting for an actual stream. That's exactly what happened with Laplus so I'm confused about why you think it's some kind of massive leap of logic to say that if EN2 debuted on the day they were revealed you could simply combine the first day subs with the ones who subbed on debut day?

You can only watch a stream within a specified time period, you can sub to a channel at any point. Your logic doesn't follow. If you could tune into a stream at any point during a week and watch it then it would stand to reason that the CCV for that stream would be spread out rather than everyone tuning in at the same time, that's how subs work but it's not how CCV works.

Well, look. It's not so easy to get someone who's good at scouting, much less manage to keep a hold of them for as long as Cover has managed to do so. Good scouting is NOT cheap, and the best ones are almost certainly already working in higher profile companies than Nijisanji or Cover. THAT is where they really got lucky. Think of it as re-rolling as F2P until you hit THE Meta unit, the one that can carry you to end-game and beyond. That is why you can't simply just 'hire better scouts' unless you're willing to throw a LOT of cash at it, and even then it's just one piece of the puzzle.

Damn, the fact that even after more than a year, Hololive still have shit tons of subs on Bilibili is rather impressive. Fubuki is still rocking 734k (as of now) as their public enemy #2 and Aqua is ahead at 857k subs. Even Coco still has 76k. That's more than what majority of VTubers have (including those on Bilibili).
Interestingly, it seems that outside of totally deserted channels (those without any content), Hololive still gets some views over the last 30 days (ranging from few thousands to hundred thousands) over there. Mori's turn around is probably one of the most amazing things I've seen concerning vtubing. She went from auditioning as a joke and not caring that much about Hololive to being the flag bearer for unity and building bridges in Hololive as a whole. Being a numberfag is good to a point since it shows you have ambitions, but you also have to be able to back it up. So far she has shown 0 reason for her to be considered even decent. But that is the problem with hololive and subs, a large portion of the subscriber-base is "sub and don't watch". It's the same with all chuubas, but the new generations show this more then anything since all get inflated at the start and then barely keep a decent ccv.
