I don't try to be a contrarian, but why do you guys support her so much? I've watched her two streams and her voice is grating, her constant wagahai/da wa is cringe and as far as I can tell, she is currently only carried by the momentum of being the first debuting member of the first Japanese gen in over a year.

I haven't seen anything that makes me think that she'll be particularly successful, save for the power of cunny.

Aqua damn near killed herself trying to get solo Masters, which is exactly what happen to Botan too. Aqua also attracted a ton of antis because of it which is why she's streaming less in general. She said she wants to get back to Apex and Smash and other games eventually, but it's probably not happening anytime soon.

IMO there's 3 factors of what makes a vtuber excel from the rest.

1. Design
2. Personality
3. Passion.

Darknesss definitely checks all 3 boxes. Meanwhile EN2 at most checks 2 of it, and we have seen how it is.

And Kronii is the highest subbed EN2 for similar reason, as you said. She has the talent and people love her design.

She's young from what I heard (under 20) so I don't think she's someone that was well established. She was probably a 2 view indie that started not too long ago and flew under the radar but is just "that" good at being entertaining and staying in character. An actual diamond in the rough/untouched gem that was picked up by Hololive.

One of the other main issues I would say is that 3/5 members don't have a unique personality niche and I say this as someone who likes Council. Fauna, Sana, and Bae's personality roles are already filled by EN and ID members (Sana overlaps with Ina, Fauna is too normal and Amelia fills the gamer role, and Bae's loud wildness is already captured by Ollie). Say what you will about Kronii and Mumei but they fill their own unique personality niches that being an extremely deadpan and dry humor autist and an airheaded retard that has some has unexpected tastes and has small moments of actual genius. It's no surprise that those two are the top performers of their gen and actually bring decent numbers and sub growth.
