which do you think is coming sooner
holostars en or a completely new branch of hololive (most likely ES or RU but who knows)

If Cover was interested in Holostars EN they would have already acted rather than giving Niji the first shot at scraping talent off the bottom of the vtuber barrel for their 4th wave. If for some reason that Wave blows up and makes it seems like male western vtubers are viable they might start to consider it.

They should go for an international branch and get bilingual people who can collab in English with EN or between each other if they don't share their native language instead of going pure ES or RU or whatever. Still, my bet is on another branch before holostar EN. Cover pretty much gave up on holostars, they've gone a year and a half without new members

Holostars really REALLY needs newer members. They stick out like a sore thumb among the girls, and any kind of interaction they have with them is seen as leeching. The 9 of them don't even get along with one another that much.

This doesn't answer the OP, but a longer while ago I made a poll asking which new branch anons would like to see the most, and the Russian one has garnered the most votes. Personally I have a feeling the next one will be either English stars or HoloES.

Other than EN, Cover used Nijisanji as their litmus paper of testing the demographics. Even then EN was probably Coco's idea otherwise management wouldn't dare to try it. India is a complete failure while the only notable Korean chuuba is Bora and Hada

probably never a new branch and just continue with new generations. for a new branch they must first have the data that supports that decision (for example, the donations of 'RU' have to be close to those of ¥ or $ to make it attractive to invest), they have to compare data with others that are investing in vt of those places and what is your investment return. in the end everything is risk management. that's why they prefer to hire for neo-opotism, someone sure than for "merits" of paper.

To be fair, it is in Cover's best interest not to make new branches.
That's because they would just become a scuffed versions of EN branch, just like HoloID. HoloID audience consists of about 90% eop people. Creating new branches and even just expanding HoloID would inevitably hurt HoloEN both in ccv and superchats.

New branch hopefully. I doubt we can get a Kaoru-level of quality Holostars in EN. Kaoru was like the only Holostar that moved the needle for them. The others just cant compete with Niji dudes.
