What's wrong with that? With an FPS you're watching someone press the triggers and movement key, with an RPG you're watching them do specific realistic option/combo, a puzzle game you watch them do the puzzle, the block game they place blocks...

To me it's the same category as anime/movie watchalongs where I could have the same experience just watching it myself. With the other examples it's a different experience from playing it myself based on their skill level or experience with the genre.

Yeah, almost none of them want to miss out on the Pokemon arc, especially when they'll probably only be able to stream it for a limited time. There's a good chance the XIV stuff resumes after that since the ones who tried it liked it, but we'll have to wait and see.
And they just recruited at least two XIV fans in Gen 6. Iroha is a massive fan and listed a XIV collab as one of her big goals.

WoW streaming is dying and getting replaced by FFXIV. There is no market except for WoW Classic nostalgia which dies after a stream with nothing to look forward to since this is more than a decade old. Holos can probably use FFXIV to play mahjong at least
