You underestimate the amount of fujobux being thrown around in this day and age. The second point is true though, it's either you get a woman playing a shota which kind of ruins the appeal or you get a man who can't do the voice at all. It's tricky.

I think you're talking about Kaoru from holostars and although his character was a trap his voice was pretty normal and male.
Nijisanji doesn't have a trap or shota that retired as far as I can remember, unless it was one of the two from VOIZ that I never bothered getting to know.

Shota characters are basically acted by female voice actors but I don't think jp women bother to do Shota vtubing. It's not an anime show anyway. You need to constantly make contents with the characterization. Vtubing acting a different gender character is not really a fun thing to do.
