And a fair chunk are idol otaku-ish, rather than gamer otakus.
The actual gamer otakus, rather than failed/ex idols or former/current titty streamers are Aqua, Okayu and Botan, with the likes of Korone, Marine and Pekora being adjacent.
Hololive's not exactly being flooded with gaming otakus. All of them play games, of course, but that's because it's easy and popular content. Gamer otakus in the sense of it actually being their passion and being good at it, otoh, are fairly rare in HL.
Though I won't disagree with Subaru being the normiest normie who ever normie'd, outnormying everyone else and living off that contrast and the culture shock of suddenly being confronted with memelords.
