She was the first vtuber basically. People didn't understand what they were seeing, they though that some computer animator was creating all of these clips. Motion capture of this sort was still pretty new. She mostly created a bunch of short clips and meme videos, and didn't get into livestreaming. You see these memes all over the place.
But then she was sold/traded, I don't know. But a different person had control of the model, and she started doing videos in chinese. That's really when her popularity tanked, and people moved on to the next thing.
