Seeing as Japan views idols as “having the job of selling dreams and smiles”, it makes sense those girls are happy when they get good feedback, because it means they’re doing what they set out to do.
Compare that to westerners, who seem to see vtubing as just another way to become the next big youtuber, it’s more about becoming a star and getting rich than actually making others happy
