>>14249698It is what it is, right? Not every game is for everyone.
>>14249883>Fire Emblem has always been disengaging and its "difficulty" comes solely from a mechanic that encourages you to call it quits the instant a little mistake happens.Ah yes, just like Xcom, Darkest Dungeon, and all other true roguelikes. Every time I die, I simply just don't play anymore.
>For example, Fire Emblem will never be able to get away with a map that completely rapes you within an inch of your life because by the standards of "Classic FE" it is unwinnable. Instead we get "kite the enemy so you can safely one shot them" map #233537373Just because you play every FE game on fucking enemy phase doesn't mean everyone else does. You find that opening and you blitz everything before they can even move. Just like every other strategy game. It's also entirely your fault for playing like a kiting bitch when you can just make a plan of action to go in balls to the wall and do well. Just because you lose a unit or 2 doesn't mean you have to reset. It's probably worth your time to not reset when the game properly supports its permadeath mechanics. funnily enough, it's just like Xcom and Darkest Dungeon in a lot of ways. You may lose a few units here and there, but you get replacements so you can do what you need to do.
