It's the idea of being proud of someone for their accomplishments and wanting to see them succeed. That's usually what a parent would do for their kid I guess.
The thing is, you can also do that with any kind of person. You can be proud of a friend, you can be proud of a partner, of anyone you look up to and just want to see thrive.
So I guess it's like, if you see Ame as a daughter then you don't really see her as someone you're into romantically or a love interest but rather just an entertainer you support and that's it.
I just don't see her that way is all. Ame's exactly the kind of gal I'm really into, so I'm sort of in love with her, and I'm also glad to support, love, and appreciate her as best I can.
