I think the anons here are more upset about other anons not being upset.
I'm glad she's feeling better
I don't give a fuck about nux, so I'm just going to avoid any future content with him
I'm expecting a lot of future collabs with the EN "crowd" but I do not think they'll overtake her JP content.
I'll give them a try because I don't think any of them are actually scum like nux, but I don't care much if I don't like them.
I will look forward to her collabs with pika and hope she finds more jp friends.
I will look forward for her new content that she makes for her jp audience.
I will support her till I genuinely feel that she (or I) have changed too much for my liking.
All that said, I don't see herself ever overtaking Coco as my oshi. Coco from the first 8 months of 2020 was at peak power with all her friends making content with her. That's where Coco shone - making her friends laugh. And when I cared about all her friends as well, it just made everything sweeter.
Youtube and management were still a pain, but they were always things to be laughed at.
People talk about her being happier than ever now, while she was still managing to get laughs out of everyone about her troubles from the time. She was making herself laugh too. I think she took maybe 3 days off in the first 8 months of 2020 - and she was able to push herself that hard because she was in top mental state, surrounded by people she cared about and who cared about her.
All that changed from the end of 2020 onwards was isolation. And that's what she's still struggling with.
I've said this before, but this tweet from okayu really hits the spot -
https://twitter.com/nekomataokayu/status/1456919241723052035A place of belonging matters.
The Kiryu Coco surrounded by so many faces working towards a common goal was gone. Nothing is ever going to change that.
But change is inevitable in life. New is just new - it's neither good or bad. So there is nothing wrong with remaining fond of her old content. There isn't a single content creator whose best work didn't slowly fade away over time.
Kson is trying her best. I want to support her because of that as well as because of my fondness of Coco. If there is stuff that she does that I have no interest in, I'll check out clips of it later. If she is collabing with someone I find abhorrent, I'll just not watch it. If I find myself watching less and less of her streams, fine - it's just how it is. Friends and family members drift apart over the years. Not surprising that it would happen with one's oshi as well.
For now I'm just glad she's OK, and she's putting out stuff I can watch (when she finally streams atleast)
Looking forward to the collab with Rika and hoping she finally becomes active on her minecraft server.
