>>1487852She is undeniably good. No one has argued against that. Best? I haven’t listened to everyone (and I won’t). Only Gura and Calli. Calli reminds me of a story.
In my younger days, I was friendly with a pair of women who worked as waitresses at Hooters.
For the non-burgers, Hooters is a restaurant with crappy food served by women in short shorts and cleavage exposing tanktops. The whole concept is an abomination. Not really relevant to the story except to set some additional context.
The two relayed this story to me along with a CD, one day. This fat wigger with a shaved head came in and sat in one’s section. He claimed to be a rapper named Prince Tripod. He initially tried to get them to buy his demo CD for $3, dropping the price to $1 and then giving it to them for free when they declined. Me being a producer even back then, they laughed when they told me this and gave the CD to me (thanks...).
As an aside, I guess the wigger’s strategy of giving his demo to random Hooters waitresses actually worked since it did make it into my hands.
However, it was all for naught as the CD contained only two songs. One in which he yelled “Yo yo yo make way for Prince Tripod” over what sounded like a bossa nova beat from a cheap 1980s synth, and then a “remix” of the same.
Getting to the point. When I hear Calli’s rap, I think of Prince Tripod. It’s on that level, just with current year editing technology.
