In Yugioh there is a Vtuber archetype called Evil Twins. It depicts a pair of /u/ Vtuber shilling their channel in the day while being money grubbing hackers and thieves at night. I admit I chuckle a bit at it

They debut before Irys and Council though. Anyway, here is Nijisanji having a promote set in the dying card game Wixoss. Wixoss is a dying Japanese card game that has collaborated with Nijisanji to create a Niji set to promote their card game. However due to miscommunication, almost none of the JP talents (who the cards depict) promote it. The only generation that talk about it was EN. This leads to the set being a failure and Wixoss both lost money paying for Niji cameo in their game, and for overprinting

They were stupid. Usually with stuff like this, you promote for months before hand to generate hype and get the Vtuber demographics to start becoming interested in the game and maybe buy a set or two. However it seems Wixoss never told Anykara to generate the hype, they only assume they would while Anykara assumed the only involvement they need is having their talents face on the cards. This leads to Pomu reviewing a Wixoss set the day it comes while viewers wonder what the fuck is going on and how long it has been in the work

I often wonder how much company work do Anykara really do since with the fact they don’t even pay their streamers and that its considered by most its more of an exclusive vtuber club at best.
Cover being an actual company with their main thing being VR tech and Hololive a side branch, as well as being huge little pansy bitches when it comes to anything company related, would have never let shit like this happen since it looks bad regardless. Like the whole Asus zhang thing or anytime Susan is getting her PMS they rush in to take care of shit even if it ends up being a retarded move.

Aren’t they only semi-part timers and only makes money from merch and superchats or something? Some of the livers don’t even have a set schedule or stream at all, at least from the JP side since they have like actual jobs and streaming was a side gig.

I'm completely uninitiated; I haven't watched any streams from anyone in Nijisanji yet. I saw some of those posts about Pomu keeping her day job for insurance purposes and didn't put two and two together.

They are indeed contractor and not listed as employee, kinda like those old youtube affiliation agency before youtuber can make their own money through monetization, except in this case niji own the channel 100%. Ofc Hololive also own the talent's channel but their talents are listed as employee on their company profile thingy.
