>>14626875>I feel that a huge part of her success comes from her voice and character designThat's true for any moderately successful VTuber. This is the best way to draw in new viewers and maintain growth. You could have the most soulful, creative content, but if your avatar looks like shit, then no one is going to give you a chance. That being said, the way you retain viewers is through quality content.
>i think her content could be leagues betterNo shit. Anyone who has been around since she was 3D knows she is capable of putting out very entertaining content. The difference is it isn't spring 2020 anymore. There are so many other VTubers, so many other agencies, and so much variety that she can't coast on the model and voice if she wants to stay relevant. There are dozens of loli chuubas that put a ton of dedication and effort into their content. Why wouldn't a jaded audience go to one of them now?
>theres a sea of passionate vtubers who would kill to have her numbers, and who work extremely hard to just to get anywhere near kanas level of successPerk of being one of the first on the scene. She has a massive headstart on building her brand. Same could be said for Nemu, girl_dm, Melody, etc. You don't have to be the best if you're one of the first.
>Honestly, if shes happy with doing low effort reaction streams to the same 10 minute compilations on youtube every week, good on herShe wasn't happy when she was in an agency that pushed her to stay creative, and she isn't happy now that she's chosen to be on her own with no external motivation. There's nothing we can do to change that. We either push her farther into depression by telling her how to improve, or we enable her selfish tendencies by accepting her giving up on herself. Pick your poison
