Let me preface this by saying I want the guys to do well. But I’m worried about them doing too well; vtubing has proven to be a fairly lucrative career for young women, moreso than men thus far. This is contrasted with regular face streaming, where men typically outclass women in terms of success. Given the shining success of Luxiem’s debut, it is proving that there is room in the English vtubing world for male streamers as well, and indeed they might even be competitive. They may even surpass the females, as happens in regular streaming. Time will tell, but if that happens there might become a problem for them. While female vtubers might pretend to be their friend at first, once they see these females see their profit margins dropping as male vtubers encroach on a space that females have dominated in thus far, it is inevitable that women will take collective action to turn against them and slander the males to sabotage their success. (Remember: females always side with each other before they side with ANY man - even all the female vtubers thirsting and “barking” in their comments will turn against the male vtuber, if for no reason than spitfeful jealousy it wasn’t her as the “victim”) Inevitably, one of these men will be the first to have females concoct twitlongers talking about how they were “harrassed” or “groomed,” or some other form of slander (like how vshojo slandered Nux). Due to societal biases since the “women are wonderful” effect (real thing, google it), regardless of the veracity of the female’s accusations, the male vtuber will likely be forced to graduate. This will serve as a warning to male vtubers everywhere, and will serve as a way for females to mark their territory. It’s tragic, because as much as I’d like everyone to get along and vtubing to avoid toxicity, females are trained to hate men and it’s only a matter of time before the female vtuber’s true feelings bubble to the service. ... So who will it be? And how long will it take?

anons are being way too hard on OP. I feel it won't happen within nijisanjiEN because the women don't have enough company influence. I also don't see anykara giving up a higher earning male. The female liver that pulls something like this would be hanging their channel. Vshojo however, it would absolutely happen. The girls there have all the company influence.

>>14941558 Don't worry anon, there's pretty much no risk any of this will ever happen. The "shining success" is just a novelty effect due to being the first debut wave of male EN vtubers from a major JP company. In a couple of weeks they'll all be in the 3 digits realm.
The fact that none of the big JP male vtubers from Niji nor Holostars ever spurred any real interest over here during the big western vtuber explosion last year is proof enough that the west as a whole doesn't really care about male vtubers.

>>14950279 >none of the big JP [...] vtubers [...] spurred any real interest over here during the big western vtuber explosion Yeah, I wonder why. Maybe it is because EOPs do not speak Japanese?
