Of course this requires an intermediary, as well. So only someone like Kiara, Ina, or Mori could do this initially.
Mori could be a great study partner because she has most of the basics down, but needs the fine tuning that only a native speaker can give her. Likewise she could help people like Noel and Polka learn the basics of English while they teach her the fine details of Japanese. It would be completely symbiotic and these sessions would probably be extremely cute to watch them both struggle over languages.
This would require them to get over their autism of sounding awkward and embarrassed in front of each other, though.
