There's detail and coloring and sure but hardly any separation of features into layers necessary to rig a movable model. This level of work is much closer to any run of the mill drawing than something ready for Live2D. At base, the shapes are the same but practically everything looks to have been redrawn since then to prepare for rigging and that's the rub. If everything needed to be redrawn anyway, it was certainly early enough to consider a new design since what was there would at best become tracing fodder and then be scrapped. As for expressions, she said as recently as today that she hadn't thought to add certain ones. Does this mean that she only took ideas from the thread when considering what to ask for? I don't know and barring any comments from the relevant parties like the one about the sunglasses being added as a lark, we don't know the decision making process or who played what role in it. My memory of the situation is that Nade was pleased with the model as it progressed, dropping small mentions of it every time she received an update, so my belief continues to be that she was in fact satisfied with the model at the time. I'd like to ask her about it directly but I'm not about to come at her with hardball questions that aren't related to the stream topic. With what we know, we can't determine whether her desire to change her design is or isn't an earlier or recent development nor can we assume that any of the artists who worked with her gave her anything less than what she requested, within the limits of their respective skill.
Sorry if I'm being too polemic. I know you said yourself that you don't hold anything against the artist.
