People stated on day one that Council felt like a group of amateur indie vtubers coming together with a weird kayfabe idea that didn't work. Their first "meeting" was beyond awful. They have gotten better over time but starting off that horribly is not a good way to build a fandom.

This is the main issue, they felt like individuals who just recently met and not a group of friends who have known each other for a literal eternity. So the lore falls apart totally. Meanwhile, HoloX pulls off the secret society dynamic rather well with each girl having a different but concrete role within the group.

Depends on what you look at. With SCs, Gen 6 has the edge, but EN’s other than Mori or Kiara aren’t big SC earners to begin with. With debuts, Gen 6 also has the edge, getting culled less than Council, having over a year since the last JP debut rather than a month since the last EN debut, not having character lore that clashes with the talents’ personalities (Bae’s not chaotic and Kronii’s not a sadist), and not having Omega steal their thunder. Now viewership and sub growth is starting to stabilize, which puts them at similar levels. Turns out they’re relatively normal streamers once debut hype wears off, and spamming SC readings isn’t a good idea.

3/5 council have fucking awful designs, especially bae. Don't know what the fuck mika pikazo was thinking with that dumpster fire when she can clearly design great looking characters like kaguya luna. The two decent designs, mumei and fauna, are given to the streamers with personalities as interesting as watching paint dry.
Holo myth wouldn't be any better off and are only successful because they got picked up by the algorithm at the peak of the pandemic, so the council are just a representation of how terrible of a model Cover have for hiring english talents. It's apparent from niji that hiring at least a couple EN vtubers who've worked together before in each wave with some randoms, lets everyone become acquainted much quicker.

Meanwhile you got fucking Sana that took a 5 week break during her debut buff and Mumei, Fauna and Kronii that might stream 1 hour 3 times a week tops if you're lucky.
They should stick to the Holo JP formula and just hire a bunch of broken unhinged girls whose life will be nothing but streaming once they get the job.

Unfortunately, a single person can't carry an entire gen with shit synergy and poorly done kayfabe while the competition wields their kayfabe well and gets along like close friends.

Irys and Brrat are basically honorary myth at this point, and clock knight could be too if she did some mental health improvement reps, got motivated and put in some real heartfelt enthusiasm.

They wasted a lot of hype on Irys. She's great, loves streaming, and would have been a great replacement for Kiara in Myth as both a streamer and singer if she had gotten in earlier, but it was too much hype for one person.
Forced Council collabs that didn't feel like they really liked each other, if would have been much smoother if they had started with Minecraft collabs.
Didn't take advantage of that one month attention bonus by streaming a lot, they had really thin schedules with not very good games.
Poor management (who in their right minds would ever let Sana do a bread/horoscope stream outside of the first few months).
