Inbreeding also used to not only be allowed, but actually forced among the upper class. The former led to growth and expansion of civilization while the latter...turned out to not be such a good idea.
Then the enlightenment came along and, in order to curtail the power of religion it went about smashing the patriarchy by empowering women to get an education instead of being married off, restricting men, and causing all sorts of problems that have led western civilization down the path of weakness and destabilization because surprise surprise if it already works then trying to fix it isn't even necessary let alone a good idea.
So now we're in the unfortunate position of a hypcorticial society that thinks children should be able to drink, do drugs, and gobble down birth control but not have sex with anyone but other children. The point is that women won't saddle young boys with children while young women getting knocked up is a burden, but when society turns a blind eye to kids fucking around with each other and you factor in that a young boy won't even be able to accept responsibility, the entire rationale becomes outright ludicrous.
We've even reached the point where judges are ruling young boys who get preyed on by older woman are responsible for child support, because the west is fully corrupted to the point where a lot of the things the governments do/enforce don't even make sense anymore.
tldr It's literally because most people have their heads completely up their ass and are hating the people they're told to hate. Because that's just how sheeple are. I mean, imagine looking at what's going on in the world right now, what people are cheering on even, and not realizing that most people don't have the capacity for complex philosophical reflection.
