They wanted Cover to demonstrate a full commitment to China being a priority audience, with the graduation of Coco, and were very angry when Cover said no, and remember this all happened shortly after HoloEN debuted so Cover's focus on the Western market was higher than ever. It's the same drama as a jilted ex, but with crowds on the internet instead of individual people, the actual Taiwan part was about as relevant as Franz Ferdinand was to WW1, the spark that lit the fire but not the reason a giant pile of fuel was lying around waiting to be set alight.
