Hololive has a minimum of 5 years to continue to exist. Even if they got .LIVE'd tomorrow, They have 40+ talents all with a very loyal core fanbase that would retire very gradually in the case a final yab-tier event happened.
Only way I could see it happening faster is if they got Kyoani'd.

Depends on how long vtubing as a whole lasts, Cover (as well as many of the other groups that exists within Japan) have the benefit of seeing the big figures before they literally die and could learn from what mistakes they made.

It's relevant to Hololive though. You have to consider that Nijisanji's unsustainable practice of pumping out vtubers is going to affect the industry as a whole. The way I see it is that Nijisanji will run into the typical scenario where a company grows faster than can be sustained or is practical / makes sense, eventually causing the company to fail. When that happens Hololive will end up consuming the market that is left over. See the internet boom, many such cases.

Nijisanji is already stopping "pumping out vtubers"
In 2020 they only added like 10 new JP livers. And in 2021 they only added 5 JPs, which is the same as Hololive.
The EN branch is new so they're still adding them quickly but they will slow down too.

Hololive is only one group, and there's also old groups of streamers or youtubers that used to be at the top and became irrelevant over the years.
Even with Vtubers you can just look at Kizuna Ai and the other 4 kings.

Not soon. Eventually it will fizzle out with old people leaving and newer people becoming the ''flagships''. It happens to every group focused on content creation. The thing that would guarantee longevity could be the idol side of Hololive. But in order to achieve that there would have to be an entire new focus on the musical production side of things. Shit like AKB/Nogi have been going on forever with a cycle of different girls, but their appeal is massive in Japan. Something that Hololive lacks. Either way, I think Hololive will continue growing and going strong for the rest of the decade. If this chink virus shit finally starts to settle down then Cover needs to go all in with concerts and physical events to get even more people involved and informed on all the other things Hololive has to offer.
