The likely cause is that nobody was talking about their New Year plans, so Kiara took the initiative and organised the karaoke stuff. The girls with nothing planned were fine with it, Sana just asked to go second so she could get to fishing sooner, Ame had to plan around it, and Gura almost said no because she had planned something but upon realising it was just her made a compromise.

Also, I'd imagine their private discord chats would be a PR disaster considering it'd read like a 4chan thread, which is why they seem so HOLO and inauthentic (pun intended wwwwwwww). It's because unfiltered EN would cause nothing but yabs. Being able to fake some semblance of normalcy probably should've been on the required skillet list during recruitment.
