Her skin color filtered most /vt/, then it was her aussie accent. To be honest, as far as 4chan is concerned those has to be the biggest debuffs you could get and she got both of them.
We couldn't even expect to get Japanese numbers because obviously those people don't like blacks, and Gura's existence pretty much captured them all already.
While she says she doesn't care my rrat is that it's a lie. She does, or did, which is why now she flipped and started not caring about apologizing after taking all those long breaks or not doing that much. I think her "Fuck you teehee" as /vt/ likes to shitpost had more into it that we think, as someone who was here when it happened. It felt more of a general "Fuck you you never cared anyway so shut up" to me. Even if you have fans, if you know that the majority of the audience hates you I don't see why you'd be inclined to want to get better. Also sure she's at the bottom when it comes to Hololive numbers, but as streamer those still are very good numbers.
I really like her, actually she's one of the few who, while still not being a complete fan, managed to capture my attention. As I said after her debut it was the big-Fate-titties clashing with her goofy nature that I found endearing. But, realistically speaking, I don't see her ever recovering from both her debuffs and her basically yab fuck you moment. And let's be honest, both the Japanese and Western audience hates blacks. The Japanese so much that even Flare did ask for a redesign.
