Try ten times more money, you overestimate how much indies make. Most people who turn to a major corpo (or any corpo) make more at monetization events than they do their entire time as an indie even after the company's cut.

Thanks to the twitch leaks Sakura Miko has made $124k($62k after Cover's cut) from 560k watch hours in 9 months, 95% watch parties.
She got $424k in SCs during that time, $148k after cuts.
That's about $210k in 9 months or $23k per month.
$23k isn't outrageous unless the merch, sponsorships, and Youtube monetization gives a lot.
She has about 87.1m channel views and 11.4m watch hours in 9 months on Youtube with 7 sponsorships.

So she makes about as much as I do except I bill for about double what she brings in annually, my job is more stable and will last longer with 401k, medical, etc. And that's for the lucky few top vtubers, which is good for them but anyone else would have better chances in professional fields, ex. software, IB/finance, medical, big law

$23k a month is more than most ground-level wagies make in a year. Only skilled labor and specialist jobs are making enough to compete with Hololive. Compared to a wagie's 40-hour work week, Miko makes roughly $138 an hour. That's just youtube+twitch. It doesn't count sponsorships, and it's not even considering the other benefits like how she has near complete control over the bulk of her work hours, and the ability to arbitrarily take time off and still get paid (albeit at a reduced, but still good, rate). It is not hard to see why people seethe about successful streamers/vtubers getting paid so much.

I forgot to include her Youtube memberships. She said she has over 10k members. That's a take home after cuts is $15k a month assuming most memberships are in yen and it's only 10k. So the absolute bare minimum Miko makes a month is $36k. She has to pay %45 in taxes so don't feel too bad.
