I have a feeling the singing in this 3D part is prerecorded. Korone might be able to do it, but Mikocchi isn't able to reach all the notes in her normal karaoke streams. I have a feeling they're just mouthing the words so that the model gets captured

I always assume Hololive live concerts are prerecorded in some way and possibly has someone else doing the dancing as well. Unless you have someone like Suisei who makes a big fucking deal about wanting to do it all live even with all the imperfections and technical issues this creates, they are going to take shortcuts to make it smooth sailing.

It's possible... we don't know how much time they spend rehearsing, exactly.
But sadly yes, easiest explanation is they split responsibilities for singing and dancing, and the singer just makes sure to breathe heavy.
I don't think they're faking it, sometimes their voices sound genuinely ragged after a number... but I wouldn't be surprised if I was made a fool by the operation, either.

But you can rig a model over anyone, it doesn't actually have to be them. Though it doesn't explain the sections where they're speaking, there were not cuts. Impressive if it's actually them dancing, must've been pre-recorded with lots of practice.

A back up who can do the specific dance might not always be available on the day of, that is probably why the dance lessons always are needed. It just makes sense to have the vtuber and someone else ready to dance and if the vtuber can't perform it all well to swap them out.

wasnt the whole point why 3d requires milestone and is a pain in the ass precisely because you need time to rig it for the vtuber body type specifically? which was why there was a clip that says they need to watch their weight. Unless you are talking about holo hiring dancers + rigging the models for them + finding someone around the same weight which is comparatively more of a pain for management than asking the girls to just git gud.

I don't get how they remember all the choreography for a dozen songs in a row. Maybe it helps to associate certain motions with certain verses.
More likely they do one full song at a time, then splice at some point... maybe a program can auto-splice when it detects the rig is perfectly aligned to the last active frame... so you stand in the resting position until you're aligned for no jump-cutting, and the director tells you "action."

This is the case. You can always see at the end of a 3D dance where they have to splice it together with the talk segment. This time they did a blur dissolve to hide it. Sometimes they cut it.
You can always tell the singing mics are different from the talk segment ones. One notable exception is with Kanata I think.

I'd rather not be a cynic and say that they used pro dancers since they'd just be exposed during HoloFes if they can't dance at all. Besides, Korone and Miko are two of the better dancers in Hololive so they can afford to be in sync with each other.

Ah okay, I don't know how 3d rigging works, but I always think of Coco and Kanata and their height difference (ie the last performance of Weather Hackers). Coco's model is super tall whilst Kanata is significantly shorter. Their roommates are not to scale with their models surely (at least Coco doesn't seem to be)?

But what Cover wants are big personalities who will stream a lot and promote their merch and crossover deals. Most likely yes. Its obvious with the guest messages, the varied content, and the 3D Live that a ton of work went into this stream. When they first announced this I was honestly just expecting them to hang out and play games for 24 hours with maybe a karaoke mixed in there.

They absolutely went above and beyond and delivered something above my wildest expectations. It felt like a legit event and I hope it becomes an annual thing.

This is probably what they mean by it being hard work. The choreography itself might not be overly complicated, but the have to memorize half a dozen songs or more. Plus they have to develop the stamina to do them all in a row, which would be extremely difficult for a potato like Mikocchi

from what's im reading on the numberfag threads, it's still showing the real numbers on their analytics. the cull is only apparent because of some arbitrarily changed rules about who counts as a viewer. some anons are theorizing that spamming the same sticker is enough to flag you as a bot. which is why the holos who do karaoke streams were affected the most with all the lightstick spam that happens there.

Gura has some opinions about Twitch, but to be fair, it seems the culture mostly applies to the english fanbase only. I've watched Migo's Twitch watchalongs and honestly her chat doesn't differ much from her Youtube's. the only problem is that Twitch is bad at VOD retention and I heard game permissions are different at twitch so Cover will have to ask the sam game companies again just to stream at Twitch.

The best example is the Mikorone 24 hour stream. The VOD is sitting at greater than 2 million views yet only had a 22k average. This is nonsense and it most likely was in the 60k to 70k range to have those kind of VOD numbers.

Then today she had 11.7k in her waiting room. A month ago this would mean an easy 20k CCV stream. Yet she ended up around 7k despite having a nearly 12k waiting room. Something real funky is going on.

Nah, that was the concensus during the numbers culling last year. This time it is them flagging accounts for spam activity. Emote Spam, multiple streams open at once, etc. All things that are ingrained in vtuber viewing habits. Also viewers quickly hopping from stream to stream. It really accelerated after the Christmas Karaoke relay fir example. A lot of those accounts probably got flagged on that day. Its bullshit.
