If, for whatever reason, your corporate oshi were to graduate from the company and reincarnate as an indie, would you follow her? Would there be any benefits for her and her fans, or only detriments? Can your oshi even survive that, or will she fade into oblivion after a while?

Rushia does fine on her roommate twitcasts and I'd bet most of her gachikoi are already there. She gets Iike 5k/6k viewer peaks on that stuff and that gurilla streams with no archive and in the middle of night JP time. If she wanted a vtuber model zhe could afford one easily. Honestly though she loves Hololive so she has zero reason to bail and many reasons to not so this hypothetical scenario doesn't mean much

It depends, really.
I don't really have an oshi.
I'd definitely follow Gura and Ame if they kept following basic Holo principles of vtubing but I'd drop them in a heartbeat if they broke any of the golden rules.
I like Hololive exactly because of how strict it is. I don't particularly care for the person behind the character and management stops the girls from destroying their virtual image.
I'd honestly probably just forget about Ina if she ever left to become an indie despite me liking her. Same for Fauna.
The rest I don't care about.
The only negative of belonging to a corporation is the need for permissions to stream games. Which sucks, Gura has expressed frustrations with permissions several times on stream and I'm sure her gaming content would be a lot more colourful if she could just play anything she wanted and she would likely stream more as well but it is a price I'm willing to pay for the ease of mind that she's not gonna accidentally do or say something stupid that ruins her image.

My oshi has a small but very dedicated core fanbase that would follow her anywhere. But I doubt it would be enough to keep streaming as her main and only job. I doubt she would stop streaming altogether in the long run, but would probably do it much less often.
The benefits I can see in going indie is not being restricted by the rules. For example being able to have a Minecraft server to play with fans. I have trust in my oshi that even without rules she wouldn't turn into ethot. Also indies don't care about permissions. Buy the demerits are greatly outweigh benefits.

She'd lose her manager and any chance at getting good sponsorships. I'd follow Suisei wherever she goes. She's still going to have her personality, her talent and her drive to succeed. Depending on her contract with Cover, she might even be able to keep the Live2D/model. I think she'd continue to be successful since she now has established connections in the music industry. That being said, I'd miss her interactions with the other holos.
