The real reason is because of niconico, totsu culture, & a bunch of Japanese streaming history of what the purpose of livestream chatrooms is and the philosophy surrounding it.
The ENs that are corpos just adapted it from JP or are copying. Non corpo ENs don't really have that rule because it doesn't matter. There is such a stark contrast of livestream chat culture from established western livestreamers and established japanese livestreamers. There's a reason only western viewers ever attempt to @ people in chat. Chat in western streams traditionally chat among themselves, chat in japanese streams are supposed to chat only at the streamer. With this culture difference it becomes obvious why mentioning other streamers is not necessarily pleasant in japanese streaming culture (especially with the history of how the scene worked before youtube).

I get why people like some of them, but even outside of the interaction meme a lot of the smaller Corp girls are just so much better than the large Corp ones.

A prime example is ironically Lisa's fnaf stream vs rosemi's. The same game but Lisa interacts with everyone in chat and is also just generally more entertaining. While rosemi mostly sits there doing nothing.
Or Ina vs literally any other art streaming indie. Ina does and says literally nothing all stream. Sure she has art skill but there's 1000s of YouTube who do paint videos of equal or higher skill.

I know I'm stating the obvious here but taste is subjective. There is no objective metric of whether a chuuba is "better" than the other. It all comes down to preferences.
Also not every single stream from a chuuba will be representative of their strengths. Rosemi's my favorite NijiEN but I think her FNAF streams are really hit or miss. On the other hand, I love her variety streams. Her ordering a fillet-o-fish while talking like a cat was fucking hilarious.

It's to make a persona. It may be hard to stomach for some, but this still is just a character for them as any streaming personality is. It just depends on how much they want to intertwine that character with their real personality, and stuff like speech pattern or nicknames for pets while streaming is common because it helps them get in that mindset of the character and reinforces it throughout the streams.

Depends. It was so strong from the start because Mori and Kiara both lived in JP and hung out regularly pre-debut. Kiara had a lot of emotional issues because she went to Japan on a 1-year Visa early that year (2020) and got all of her plans cut extremely short because of Covid. Trapped in her home with little connection or events, she buried herself in Hololive content, particularly Pekora which is why she had such a love for her at debut. Mori and Kiara supported eachother, but once Kiara's Visa ran out in Feb of 2021 and she had to move back home, the lack of constant hanging out irl kinda took its toll on their strong friendship they had. Kiara had her depression arc and popped out of her slump, realizing it was kinda unfair to put some of her emotional stress on Mori, and she didn't want to piss off /u/ schizos, so she let it come down slowly. At one point after a bunch of pestering in chat about it, she just said things were kinda done and she wanted to not be pigeonholed into the TakaMori trope. Some of that came from the fact that Mori was not really pestered about flirting lightly with other Holo's, but Kiara would have a ton of reactions if she ever did it.

I feel like there was already a thread on this, but it bugs me a lot. Exactly how much of what a corporate Vtuber (especially Holos/HoloEN) is determined by their management? I remember Gura talking about it, and how she couldn't play certain games from management restrictions. It wouldn't be a popularity issue - fans would watch her watching paint dry, let alone something fun like lawnmower simulator - and if it was simple as permissions, why would other, much smaller corporate chuubas get to play games that require copyright permission and return tons of views?

For example in HoloEN I would think that the talent's word would be worth more than a green light from management, so I wonder why that doesn't seem to happen. It could be a matter of work ethic which some girls apparently lack, but I imagine that having to get permission to stream like a kid asking their mom for a toy doesn't encourage one to make content either.

Yes white rice has been "processed" but that's not relevant to avoiding gluten. Especially if you wash it like most people. Whole foods are, barring some very unlikely scenarios, not gluten exposure risks. You don't need to buy artisanal Spanish ham, you just have to buy real food. If you're so broke you can only afford packaged bullshit, well my condolences I guess. But I've been pretty broke in my life and eggs and potatoes have always been cheap.

Idk where you live, probably the US where non gluten stuff has been big for a while, but in the UK it's pretty dreadful for a lot of things. Well it was better than top ramen and fast food, like my peers went for instead. I get no gluten in my diet with no special effort. Meat, vegetables, fruit, and nearly all dairy are open to you. Unless you're making everything from scratch it's hard to get things like fries, bread, any sausage like meat, any ice cream, most chocolate, ANYTHING with malt vinegar in, most pasta, most chips, most alcohol etc. You can, sure, avoid it but it's fucking difficult when you're used to eating it for 20+ years of your life, and you're especially not used to checking for it.
